The best recruitment party ever?

I have been to hundreds of recruitment parties.

You have been to quite a few, too, I imagine. Record months to be celebrated. Awards nights. End of years knees-ups.

But this one was special.

After a Covid-induced hiatus, the People2People STRIDE awards were back!

100 staff from the eight offices across New Zealand and Australia assembled at the Museum of Contemporary Art on Sydney Harbour. As the MC for the evening, I had a close-up view of the emotion, joy, and unbridled pleasure of friends and colleagues assembling to celebrate the values and the success of a business that has grown from five people in a tiny room, to 120 across two countries.

Have a look at the first video, which is only 80 seconds, that sets the scene with some beautiful acceptance quotes and much glamour on display.

The best line from one of the winners for me was;

“I would really like to thank the other seven recruitment companies that said ‘no’ to me before People2people hired me.”

Like every business, People2People has many areas for improvement. Still, overall, it’s an outstanding business with brilliant people, and I hope you agree that the videos give you a glimpse into a culture you cannot manufacture.
