The ‘Billing Manager’ drives profit in every Agency

Every owner I talk to is excited about post-COVID growth.

And it is not wishful thinking. Job orders are pouring in and optimism is high.

But the bad news is that most Agencies will hit the ‘Valley of Death‘ as usual, and never grow beyond 12 to 15 staff. (even pre-covid 80% of recruitment agencies in Australia, NZ, USA, and the UK had less than 10 staff. The Valley of Death, I told you)

And those few that do?

They will master many challenges, but the one that is non-negotiable is developing a second tier of management.

And the group will initially be highly skilled ‘Billing Managers’. These heroes are charged with running high billing desks – and managing a team to high productivity as well.

A successful agency will have a good strategy and vision set by the directors, and strong transacting by the consulting team, but the Billing Manager is the engine that drives profit. And it’s the hardest job in recruitment. (2.5 minutes)

• The person who holds a personal target and generates fees, but also manages recruiters and is responsible for their performance
• Without a doubt the most challenging job I have ever done.
• Owners set vision; Consultants transact; Billing Manager drives!
• The Billing Manager is the powerhouse behind growing profits in the business.

Without the ability to hire, train, manage and retain Billing Managers, your recruitment Agency will once again flounder in the Valley of Death

I guarantee it.
