80% of recruitment and staffing agencies in Australia, the United Kingdom, the USA, and indeed worldwide, never grow beyond 10 staff
The vast majority stay with five staff or fewer.
In the UK, 82% of recruitment agencies have annual sales of less than £1 million, and 79% have less than 10 staff.
Of the 19,408 staffing firms operating for a full year in the US, almost 85% had annual revenue below $5 million. Nearly 11,000 firms had revenue under $1 million.
They are lifestyle businesses. Although they may earn the owner a decent income, they have no asset value and can never be sold.
