15 crucial recruiter tips for 2021 (In 15 words or less!)

The annus horribilis of 2020 is behind us!

New year! Fresh dreams!

None of us can predict what 2021 holds. It’s unlikely to be easy.

We all want to get better. Achieve more.

Just ‘working hard’ and ‘hoping for a better year’ won’t do it, and those are not real goals anyway.

Here are 15 simple, actionable tactics for all the desk recruiters out there. Each no longer than 15 words. Work on them all. They will lead you to fun and money.

At the very least, they will protect you in the event of another year like 2020.

1. Reinvent your attitude to, and relationship with, Talent Acquisition

2. Look to these special skills from the past – to improve your future.

3. Develop a unique and powerful narrative for clients and candidates.

4. Run, no, sprint, towards the ‘Exclusivity/retainer fire (And this. And this. And this)

5. Business development? Flip the dynamic!

6. Build ‘Goodwill Equity’. Consistent, quality outbound engagement.

7. Walk away from shitty margins PSAs/PSLs, or clients who disrespect you. Believe in yourself.  (Here is how to do it)

9. Build candidate acquisition tactics and pipelines outside LinkedIn and Job-Boards. (This is good. And this. And this is key)

11. Use the phone or F2F, not email, whenever ‘influence’ is needed. And ask this question in EVERY interaction!
