What happens to non-billing middle managers in a downturn?
I am not predicting a downturn.
But it wouldn’t be a shock, would it?
And many companies will be badly hurt if it comes. Especially now after the long golden run we have had.
The danger is creating a fat layer of middle management who are no longer involved in sales or billing. What are all these ‘managers’ managing? What happens to them when revenue drops? (less than 2 minutes)
• What is the first thing big recruitment companies do when revenues start to fall, and they think a recession is on the way?
• The non-billing middle management is fired in droves!
• If they are no good to you in tough times, why were they valuable in the good times?
• Be careful about creating a layer of management who are no longer involved in any aspect of selling.
• A good Billing Manager protects you in a downturn.
