Only hire recruiters from ‘Generation C’.

Forget Millennials, Gen X and the Baby Boomers.

The only group of recruiters that have any chance of success as we enter a brave new world of recruiting, will be most certainly be from ‘Generation C’.

Yes indeed, there is only one group of recruiters that will thrive in a world where talent shortages get worse, clients build their own tools to recruit, and technology continues to disrupt.

And those recruiters come from ‘Generation C’

And of course being part of ‘Generation C’ has nothing to do with your age or your birth-date.

The ‘C’ in ‘Generation C’ stands for ‘Connected’.

Recruitment belongs to the connected generation.

It’s knowing people, that counts. But more than just knowing them, it’s also those people knowing you. And it’s them trusting you.

The ‘connected’ generation is also the ‘credible generation’.

‘Generation C’ know where skills can be found, and how to use their connections to open new doors.

A ‘Generation C’ recruiter will be well-connected of course, but they will also be great connectors. Building a digital brand is woven into their DNA, they love social, they are likely to create content, and will develop a community of connections across a wide spectrum of platforms. They see LinkedIn more as a branding platform than a sourcing platform, and they behave there accordingly, sharing insights, answering questions, provoking debate.

Of course they are smart to the irony that once you treat LinkedIn as a branding platform, it inevitably becomes your best sourcing platform! (Yes, read that again, and reflect, please)

‘Generation C’ are excellent users of technology, especially social, to build a network, but they are also great connectors in real life, having hundreds of cups of coffee a year, thanking people, being generous with time and information, connecting people together without thought of immediate gain. They go to events, and they send thank-you notes.

They use their ‘neck-top’ as much as they use their lap-top!

The unique skill of ‘Generation C’, their super-power if you like, is that they make people feel special.

And what a refreshing change that is a recruiting world that increasingly seems to value technological efficiency and automation over human connectivity.

It’s the ultimate differentiator

‘Generation C’. No age barriers to this group. You can be 20 and you can be 70. I am in! It’s how you behave that gets you into this club, not a birth-date, a tattoo, a Range-Rover, or a piercing.

Yes ‘Generation C’, the generation that understands that the future of recruitment is that beautiful sweet-spot where brilliant use of technology merges with highly evolved human influencing skills.

The recruiting generation that successfully marries art with science.

Greg as usual hits the spot, I talk to my team about this all the time, be nice to everyone and demonstrate your professionalism all the time. We live in a connected world and you ignore it at your peril.

One good place to start making connections is a co-working space. I've heard from more than a few freelance or consultant workers who have landed prime jobs - mainly with start-ups - as a result of hiring a desk in a shared office. Personal connections should not be forgotten in preference to social media - the two work together,

Bravo Greg! The real essence of Recruiting "Necktop" with passion driven success. I'm adding the "Gen C" / "Necktop" to the top of my phrases.
